Have you ever wondered what your office is spending on printing? Studies show that some companies are spending upwards of 3% of their annual revenue on printing expenses. Managed Print Specialist, Janice Moore, examined a few of the facts and figures that go into business printing. Printing can be expensive and wasteful if it is being managed incorrectly. There is the price of paper, different colors of ink and toner, the technology itself, and the upkeep and management of the device. With a solution like Managed Print Services (MPS) your business can get a handle on the high price tag that goes along with printing.
Think back to the technology you were using back in 1998. Do you remember the days before your email, photos, calculator, weather, and more were all inside your smartphone? Technology has had some major shifts in the past 20 years, and even more in the last 100 years! Check out this blog from earlier this year if you want to take a stroll down memory lane and think back to what office life was like back in 1998.
Did you hear our big news in 2018? We officially transitioned from our legacy brands of Copying Concepts, UDP, and Datamax and fully embraced our updated brand of SumnerOne. For decades those brands have served the Kansas City and St. Louis marketplaces. But this year, it was time for a change. The heart and values of our legacy brands live on within SumnerOne, we simply have an updated name and look. Our new name is a better reflection of how we can better serve your business and your people without the complexity of different branding variations. Our goal at SumnerOne is to be the one source for all your office technology needs. If you would like to read more about our journey and transition to SumnerOne, check out this blog post for more information.
We've all had a run in with a copier that left us frustrated. That business pain point led to the creation of our annual Worst Copier in KC event! Each year we accept submissions from area Kansas City businesses on why they believe they have the worst copier in the city. After we've selected a winner, the business has the pleasure of coming to the event to watch their old machine get dropped from a crane hanging above Union Station. Last year, our winner St. John the Baptist Church, got to watch their old copier smash into a million pieces and then received a new device courtesy of SumnerOne! Our Kansas City office hosts this smashing event each September to not only benefit the winner, but also a local KC non-profit called BIGGSteps which was established to support cancer research. If you'd like to see the full video from the event, check out this blog!
Up to 65% of data breaches are caused by poorly educated employees. Data breaches and cyber security were hot topics in 2018, and they show no signs of slowing down. Our Lead Engineer, Jeff Groby, created this great blog article as a guide for businesses to use to educate their end users. Each of Jeff's tips are relevant to employees on every level. He touches on some good reminders for everyday use and training opportunities that your business' leadership can implement for your employees. On top of some great information, there is also an end user education checklist available for you to take on the go and share with others in your office.
