SumnerOne Employee Spotlight: 5Qs with Amy Beauchesne

How well do you know your coworkers? Here at SumnerOne, we pride ourselves on being a company that values family, and we strive to extend that value to how we treat our fellow employees. We’ve decided to introduce you to one of our SumnerOne family coworkers each month.

Our second spotlight is Amy Beauchesne, Manager of Administration, out of the Wichita, Kansas office of SumnerOne. If Amy Beauchesne (it’s pronounced “bow-shane”) could have another middle name it should be AKA. She’s AKA Amy B, “because there are so many letters in my last name and no one can pronounce it,” and her job title could be expanded as well. “My signature says, ‘Office Administrator’ but really it’s ‘wearer of many hats.’” Most of what Amy does is operational. She makes sure the facilities—Wichita and Kansas City—are running smoothly, oversees the day-to-day, office supply, AKA the behind-the-scenes things we shouldn’t take for granted. “I’ll change the toilet paper rolls, if that needs to be done,” she explains. Amy’s been with SumnerOne officially for about two years—since KK Office Solutions (KKOS) was acquired—and she was at KKOS for about 20 years. In her private life, Amy continues her AKA status. She’s a volunteer at her church’s middle school program, donates her time to an animal rescue, and crochets hats for Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Volunteer AKA animal whisperer AKA crafter extraordinaire.

5Qs with "Amy B."

1. How lucky are you?

I’m pretty lucky. When I was a kid, I won a turkey by guessing how many M&Ms were in a glass jar. I’ve won an iPad. I’ve won a lot at Bingo. I won a Hawaii trip from SumnerOne.

2. You’re forced to appear on America’s Got Talent. What’s your performance? Organizing someone’s house or their sock drawer.

3. Are you more of a hunter or a gatherer?

Gatherer. I like to prepare and get stuff ready.

4. If there was a movie produced about your life, who would play you?

Melissa McCarthy

5. What’s your favorite thing about SumnerOne?

The people. They’re very supportive; It’s like a big family, even though we’re spread apart. We have so much wicked talent. It’s impressive to be included in that bunch of people.

SumnerOne is the one place where everything works and where everyone works together like family. Check out our SumnerOne Employee Spotlights the first Friday of each month.
